Brand Tracking Study for Party Speaker Buyers Across Six Indian Metros

July 2026

This was a continuous brand health tracking engagement delivered for a leading global consumer electronics and audio brand, designed to measure top-of-mind awareness, brand strength and purchase Qdynamics within the one-box / party speaker category. Now in its third wave, the study required reliable access to a screened, intent-qualified audience across six major Indian metros, with a consistent methodology that allowed accurate wave-on-wave comparison. It is a strong example of repeatable, intent-led category tracking among a defined, lower-incidence consumer segment.

Business Challenge

The client needed a robust, repeatable read on how its brand was performing within a fast-growing but highly competitive audio category — specifically among consumers who were actively intending to purchase a party speaker in the near term.

The key requirements were to:

  • Reach a defined, low-incidence audience: active purchase intenders for one-box / party speakers

  • Maintain consistent coverage across six major metro markets in India, representing diverse regional profiles

  • Preserve methodological consistency across waves to enable accurate year-on-year brand tracking

  • Track the full purchase funnel — awareness, consideration, preference, intent and likelihood to buy

  • Capture brand imagery, ambassador recall and price sensitivity within a single, time-efficient survey

  • Uphold strong respondent validation and quality control throughout fieldwork

The overall goal was to give the client a dependable, comparable measure of brand strength and conversion within a category where discovery and demand are shifting rapidly.

Our Approach

The study was executed as an online (CAWI) survey with an average length of interview of approximately 10 minutes, with the questionnaire developed and finalised in consultation with the client. The design ensured every interview added a comparable, intent-qualified data point.

To guarantee relevance, every respondent was screened to qualify as an active category intender — a consumer planning to purchase a one-box / party speaker in the near term — before entering the main survey. The sample was distributed across six metros: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.

Respondents were profiled across age, gender, education and household income, and analysed across three age cohorts (18–25, 26–35 and 36+) to surface generational differences in awareness and intent. The instrument covered category awareness (top-of-mind, spontaneous and aided), brand consideration and preference, brand imagery and perception, intended usage and music genres, campaign and ambassador recall, and willingness to pay — all benchmarked against the previous wave on a common set of comparable questions and attributes.

Continuous quality control and respondent validation were maintained throughout fieldwork to ensure clean, comparable longitudinal data across waves.

Results

The study was successfully delivered across all six target metros, achieving a total qualified sample of 501 intenders in the current wave (against 555 in the prior wave).

The final sample included:

  • 501 screened, intent-qualified category respondents

  • Coverage across six Indian metros — Delhi (66), Mumbai (107), Kolkata (89), Bangalore (108), Chennai (79) and Hyderabad (52)

  • Three analysable age cohorts — 18–25 (200), 26–35 (149) and 36+ (152)

  • A clean, validated dataset, with respondent checks and quality controls passed throughout fieldwork

  • A consistent, wave-on-wave comparable dataset across three consecutive waves

Impact for the Client

The study gave the client a clear, comparable way to read its brand position within the party speaker category and track how that position was evolving wave-on-wave.

The study enabled the client to:

  • Track top-of-mind and total brand awareness on a consistent basis across waves

  • Map the full purchase funnel — from awareness through consideration and preference to likelihood to buy — and see where momentum builds or drops off

  • Read brand imagery and perception across performance and lifestyle attributes, broken out by age cohort

  • Gauge how campaign and endorsement recall related to purchase consideration

  • Identify the price band where demand concentrates and the discovery channels driving product awareness

  • Make confident, evidence-led marketing decisions backed by validated, trackable data

By combining a screened intender audience, full-funnel measurement and a consistent wave-on-wave design, the engagement delivered a dependable, decision-ready view of brand health within a competitive and fast-moving category.
